About Us

Ravens Wood School is an oversubscribed 11-16 boys' school with a mixed Sixth Form. We have a clear focus on the academic achievement we want for our students. Student performance has been exceptional over a number of years and this is reflected in excellent examination results. We are recognised as a Leading Edge school by the Department for Education and Skills.

However, we also see ourselves as a school community, committed to excellence and innovation. We encourage participation in a wide range of educational and life enriching activities, celebrating success in many varied ways.  Our ultimate aim is to help students prepare to take maximum advantage of lifelong learning experiences in further education and careers, establishing themselves as responsible members of the community.

In recent years we have forged strong links with schools in Quebec where we manage and co-ordinate a unique project of school improvement.  As a Technology College we are also continually seeking to pioneer Information Technology as a teaching and learning strategy with the aim of raising the performance of our students and equipping them with the skills they will require to embrace the 21st Century.
